INDIA AND JAPAN

What do you know about Japan? You might mention sushi, Fuji mountain, sakura, animation, etc., but there actually is a much deeper past of cultural exchanges between India and Japan.

Back to the 6th century when Buddhism was introduced to Japan from India, Japan for the first time became aware of India. Full-scale exchanges started from 1952 when diplomatic relations were established between the two sides. Today, Japan engages in economic cooperation with India stronger than any other countries in the world. You may have well heard about the metro and Shinkansen trains built with Japanese technology. With the unceasing economic cooperation and technical assistance, the bilateral bond will grow deeper and stronger in the future.

ABOUT JAPANESE LANGUAGE

Learning Japanese means you have to remember all of the hiragana, katakana, and kanji, which is easy to imagine how difficult it is for foreign learners.

Currently, there are approximately 125 million native Japanese speakers, running high in the world language speaker rankings, showing that the influence of the Japanese language is rather strong globalwide.

What’s more, about 3.79 million people are studying Japanese in 141 countries and regions, of which approximately 36,000 learners are in India. (from the 2021 Japan Foundation “Overseas Japanese Language Education Institutions Survey”) The number of Japanese language learners in South Asia is increasing year by year, and it’s suggested the same increase will happen in India in the future.

The reason why to study Japanese, if put in the past, was often to study abroad in Japan or just for keeping a hobby, but now the most common motivation is for employment in the home country, seeking a job in the future or moving to Japan for more job opportunities.
Today, Japan is actively accepting foreign talent, and the number of foreigners living in Japan is experiencing yearly growth. As a result, the more Japanese speakers appear, the bigger influence of the Japanese language will be expected in the future. In other words, If you can speak Japanese, you will impress other people and embrace more opportunities as an advantage.

To become a valuable asset for our two countries, why not start learning Japanese now?

ABOUT JLPT
(Japanese Language Proficiency Test)

This test measures and certifies the Japanese language proficiency of non-native Japanese speakers.

Specifically speaking, it includes the “language knowledge” part that measures how much you know about Japanese kanji, vocabulary and grammar. It also includes the “reading comprehension” and “listening comprehension” parts which are comprehensively designed to see if you can use the basic knowledge to accomplish communication tasks. The test is divided into five levels, N5 (beginner) to N1 (advanced).

As many universities, graduate schools, and companies in Japan check the JLPT result for reference, it is a rather necessary test to manifest your Japanese language level, and advance to higher education or target company.
